DLA Piper Strengthens Intellectual Property Team Greater China

DLA Piper today announced the appointment of Yan Zhao as a partner (effective 11 July 2011) in its Asia Intellectual Property team. Yan is a leading intellectual property practitioner with more than 13 years’ experience in China. His practice covers patent prosecution and patent litigation work as well as other general IP work. Yan will be based in Shanghai but will also spend a significant amount of time in DLA Piper’s Hong Kong office. Yan joined DLA Piper from Foley & Lardner where he was Senior Counsel.

Yan is admitted to practice as a lawyer in New York and China and as a patent attorney in China and Singapore. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
