Middletons Banking & Financial Services Group Adds Another Partner to Its Growing Practice

Today, Middletons announced the arrival of Alex Roth, previously a partner at Herbert Geer, who will join its Banking & Financial Services group in Sydney. This follows the appointment of Richard Winter in July, formerly an in-house counsel at Westpac.

In announcing the appointment, Middletons national managing partner, Nick Nichola said, “Alex comes to us with significant experience having spent 10 years advising large banking and finance clients including Westpac, St.George, Credit-Suisse, ANZ, Suncorp, Centuria, Capital One, Wingate and Partnership Finance Group.”

Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr Roth spent four years in commercial and corporate lending within the corporate divisions of Westpac and St.George.

Mr Nichola said, “This ‘hands on’ experience will be invaluable when undertaking legal work for our banking and finance clients.”

Middletons head of Banking & Financial Services group, Jim Bulling said, “Alex is a welcome addition to our growing national team and embodies our straight talking approach.”

In joining the Middletons partnership, Mr Roth said, “Middletons has forged a strong reputation in the marketplace and the banking and finance practice continues to grow with key panel appointments such as Westpac and CBA. This, combined with the firm’s down-to-earth approach and passion for the practice of law, ultimately won me over.”
