Clifford Chance Advises on IPO and London Listing of Indian Company

Global law firm Clifford Chance is advising Evolution Securities and Renaissance Capital on the initial public offering and AIM listing of Jubilant Energy.  Jubilant Energy is a Dutch company with Indian oil and gas exploration and production assets that is well positioned to benefit from the growth potential of demand for oil and gas in India.

The transaction builds upon Clifford Chance’s impressive track record of ECM transactions in the oil and gas sector, with recent mandates including advising Premier Oil on its rights issue in 2009, advising Salamander Energy on its IPO and London listing in 2006, its acquisition of GFI Oil & Gas Corporation and placing and open offer in 2008, advising Wellstream on its IPO and London listing in 2007 and advising SABIC and Saudi Kayan on the IPO and Saudi listing of Saudi Kayan in 2007.

The successful conclusion of the Jubilant Energy IPO is also further evidence of the improving market conditions for IPOs.  The Jubilant Energy IPO caps a busy month for Clifford Chance’s ECM team, which also advised AZ Electronics Materials on its IPO and Premium Listing in London and Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan on the IPO and Moscow listing of OJSC Mostotrest.

Lead partner Simon Thomas said “we are very pleased to have advised on this significant transaction – the deal once again underlines that London remains the prime destination for international capital raising for the oil and gas sector. We have once again shown our depth of knowledge in this sector and our experience in guiding emerging market companies to the equity markets.”

The Clifford Chance team advising Evolution Securities and Renaissance Capital was led by London ECM partner Simon Thomas, with assistance from associates Inigo Esteve and Tony Lally.
