Herbert Smith Advises Joint Bookrunners and Lead Managers on China Datang IPO

Herbert Smith has advised UBS, China Everbright Securities, Cinda International Capital, Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan Securities and Macquarie Capital Securities as joint bookrunners and joint lead managers on the HK$5 billion (US$643 million) (subject to exercise of over-allotment option) Hong Kong IPO and the Rule144A/Regulation S global offering of China Datang Corporation Renewable Power Co., Limited (“China Datang”).

China Datang is China’s second largest wind power producer by installed capacity. Its parent company, China Datang Corporation, is one of the five largest scaled power generation enterprises in China.

The US team was led by corporate partner Kevin Roy and associates Han Han and Jackie Chen. Corporate partner Gary Lock led the Hong Kong team and was assisted by Raymond Lam, Michelle Zhou and Eugene Lau.
