Blake Dawson has appointed Liza Carver as a partner of the firm’s national Competition and Consumer Protection practice, based in Sydney. Liza has joined the firm from Gilbert & Tobin.
“We are delighted that Liza is joining our Competition team. She is a very skilled and experienced competition lawyer, with particular expertise in merger clearance and in the energy and telecommunications sectors,” Peter Armitage, practice leader of the firm’s CCP group said.
“Her strengths will complement our team well, building on our reputation as one of Australia’s leading competition law practices.”
Liza is the third partner Blake Dawson has appointed to its national CCP practice area in recent months – Jane Ellis and Ross Zaurrini were promoted to partnership at the beginning of July 2011.
Liza was recently ranked as Best Lawyers’ 2011 Sydney Competition Lawyer of the Year, as well as listed as a leading lawyer in the field by Chambers Global 2011.
