Lawyer, Aruno Rajaratnam joins Ince & Co as financial lines insurance practice group leader for Asia based in the firm’s Singapore office. Aruno will work with the firm’s existing financial lines team within and outside Asia, partnering with both the international and regional markets, as they continue to develop their products across Asia. As a key member of the firm’s expanding global practice, Aruno will lead the team in building a high quality practice driven by expertise, in-depth market understanding and client service.
Aruno Rajaratnam comes to Ince from Willis Insurance Brokers where she served as Managing Director of FINEX, Asia for six years. Aruno was responsible for a range of specialist areas including the development, marketing and placement of FINEX products for the Asian region, including drafting D&O and professional liability policies for Taiwan, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia. She also covered IPO & prospectus liability; professional indemnity, errors & omissions; medical malpractice, hospitals’ liability, clinical trials; bankers blanket bonds, commercial crime bonds; e-commerce cyber – related covers; venture capital, asset management, REITS, hedge funds; stock exchanges & stockbrokers programmes; multi-media liability; intellectual property, patent infringement covers; defective title insurances; and contingency risks. With over 30 years experience in the Asian financial lines market, Aruno has worked as both underwriter and broker.

Aruno Rajaratnam has substantial legal practice and insurance industry experience. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Singapore Bar in February 1975, and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner conferred by the Chartered Insurance Institute of the United Kingdom in 1984. Aruno can be considered as a pioneer in her industry, having placed the first D&O policy in Asia in 1986 and also developed and managed the first Compulsory Professional Indemnity Scheme for Lawyers in Singapore. She has also contributed to numerous industry publications and media, and is regularly invited as a keynote speaker to discuss industry trends and updates at Asian D&O, Professional Liability and other industry Conferences.
