International legal practice, Norton Rose Hong Kong has expanded its banking practice with the relocation of London-based partner, Davide Barzilai, to its Hong Kong office.
Davide Barzilai is a banking partner with substantial expertise in Islamic and conventional shipping and asset finance, Islamic treasury management, Islamic project/property finance and structured trade finance. His move is a significant part of the banking practice’s strategy to extend our Islamic finance capabilities beyond London and the Middle East and to help develop our banking practice in the Asia region. Davide previously worked at Norton Rose (Asia) LLP in its Singapore office from 2005-2007.
Norton Rose Hong Kong’s banking and finance team now comprises 3 partners and 13 fee earners.
Davide Barzilai, Banking partner commented:
‘‘I am delighted to be joining the Hong Kong office. The growing demand for diverse banking capabilities has made this a natural move, and I look forward to strengthening our already strong banking practice in Asia.
Peter Haslam, Head of Banking in Asia said:
‘We have grown our banking and finance practice significantly in Hong Kong and Asia in the last 12 months. The arrival of Davide further strengthens our banking group and will allow us to increase our offerings substantially and extend a fuller range of services to our clients across the region.’’
Following Davide’s relocation to Hong Kong, this brings our total Asia partner level to 46 across the Norton Rose Group offices in Asia. In Asia Pacific, we have more than 700 lawyers, operating from 13 offices, creating a major legal practice across the entire region.
