Mallesons Stephen Jaques has acted for BG Group in relation to its deal to sell LNG from its Queensland Curtis LNG project to Tokyo Gas and Tokyo Gas’ equity investment in that project. The deal includes the first fully termed sales agreement for the supply to Japan of LNG sourced from coal seam gas.
The Mallesons team was led by Energy, Resources and Projects partners James Fahey and Craig Rogers.
James and Craig have extensive experience in the LNG space and have been key advisers to BG on all aspects of its Queensland Curtis LNG project.
It is estimated that the project will provide 5000 construction jobs, 1000 permanent jobs over the project’s lifespan and a $32 billion injection into the economy.
