Senior lawyer Yasuyuki Takayama will join Clifford Chance’s Tokyo office on 1 July 2011, bringing a broad range of skills and experience in capital markets, structured products and financial regulatory work.
“Yasuyuki will strengthen our existing leading capital markets practice, headed by partner Reiko Sakimura, and bring valued skills in financial markets regulatory,” said Tokyo Managing Partner Peter Kilner.
“In addition to private practice experience in capital markets and structured finance, he has worked for the country’s two major financial regulators – the Financial Services Agency and the Bank of Japan – so will be able to provide a regulator’s perspective to our clients.”
“This is the first major hire since we restructured our practice for growth in Tokyo, and we expect to make further announcements in the coming months,” said Peter.
