Robert Lewis, the head of Lovells’ Beijing office, has left the firm to join Allbright. He leaves Lovells the same day that the firm officially merges with Hogan on May 1st. Lewis has spent the last nine years with Lovells.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton plans to focus on growing its presence in Hong Kong, New York and London. The firm is famous for rarely making a lateral hire and it continues to be cautious about making such decisions. But, the firm’s finances fared better after the economic downfall than many other US firms. Its total revenue declined by $4 million to $965 million and its profit per equity partner remained the same.

Winston & Strawn LLP has boosted its Hong Kong office with addition of four new attorneys. The firm hired Adrian Yip, a commercial litigation partner, who is joined by three associates: Cliff Mok, Philip Kwok and Genevieve Ku.
