Herbert Smith appoints Sarah Munro as senior consultant

Herbert Smith announced today that it has appointed Sarah Munro as a senior consultant. The appointment takes effect as of 1 September 2010.

Based in Herbert Smith’s Shanghai office, Sarah will play a key role in the development of the disputes practice across all three offices in Greater China, supporting the further growth of the firm’s 20-partner Greater China practice.

Sarah rejoined Herbert Smith in November 2008, having trained with the firm and spent two further years in the London office. In the interim, she worked for a law firm in Ghana and with a US firm in London. She is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and in Hong Kong. Sarah has broad experience in litigation and arbitration, including general commercial and shareholder disputes, contentious regulatory matters and international arbitration.

Recent cases on which Sarah has advised include acting for a leading American investment bank on an internal investigation, a consolidated ICC arbitration in Singapore for a leading multinational travel operator in relation to a US$47m breach of warranty claim, and a leading French utilities company on an internal investigation.
