Asian Firms Looking to Hire United States-Based Lawyers for Business Consultation

The United States can be a confusing country for tourists, but this is nothing compared to the headaches that face international businesses who wish to expand into America. Aside from the language barrier and cultural differences, the U.S. has very specific laws that govern taxes, advertising and every other aspect of the business world. This is why many global corporations choose to recruit legal professionals when they expand operations into North America.

For instance, Reuters published an article that highlighted the relations between the United States and Asia when it comes to the gambling industry. Las Vegas is currently seen as a hotbed of activity, but strict U.S. regulations are leading many companies to seek the market of countries like China, where gambling law is much more lax. Asian companies are beginning to hire American lawyers to help them navigate the complicated world of corporate law in the United States.

“It won’t be long before Asian firms start acquiring and developing properties in Las Vegas as a part of creating a global footprint,” said Jonathan Galaviz, managing director and chief economist at Galaviz and Company LLC, according to the news source.

This is especially true in southeast Asian countries like the Philippines, where Asian brokerage CLSA predicted gambling revenue to increase over 100 percent to US $3 billion in 2015, according to Reuters.

Lawyers who specialize in gambling law and Asian culture should consider using attorney headhunters to find the best available positions. Asia legal recruiting is one of the most popular tasks for staffing agencies right now, and as the economy continues to grow, there is no better time to seek a new position in Asia.
