Aviation Finance Partner Joins Clyde & Co in MENA

Clyde & Co is pleased to announce the appointment of Sidanth Rajagopal as a partner in the firm’s MENA aviation practice.

Prior to joining the Dubai office, Sidanth was a partner at Clasis Law (Clyde & Co’s associated law firm in India). Sidanth specialises in financing, leasing and purchasing of aircraft and engines. He has developed a significant client base providing finance and non-contentious advice to a number of leading airlines and been involved in a considerable number of transactions across the commercial aircraft and corporate jet sectors. Sidanth acts primarily for banks, aircraft purchasers, lessors and airlines.

Sidanth’s practice will complement that of aviation partner Oliver Tebbit in providing specialist regional aviation finance advice as part of the firm’s global aviation and aerospace offering.

Sidanth commented, “The aviation market has seen rapid expansion across the emerging markets, particularly in the GCC States. This growth represents an enormous opportunity, and I look forward to developing the MENA/Aviation practice further with the specialist team at Clyde & Co.

Jonathan Silver, Managing Partner of Clyde & Co’s MENA operations, anticipates great things, commenting “We are delighted to welcome Sidanth to Clyde & Co. He is a formidable lawyer and his experience will be invaluable in affirming our presence in the aviation finance sector in the region. The combination of Sidanth and Oliver will give Clyde & Co unrivalled critical mass in the area and strengthen our network in this important sector.

Sidanth is featured in Who’s Who Legal as a leading aviation lawyer.

For the past seven consecutive years the Clyde & Co aviation and aerospace team has been named as ‘the world’s leading firm in the field of aviation law’ (Who’s Who Legal), recognition that is mirrored by the various legal directories.

Clyde & Co has five MENA region offices operating as a single unit: Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE; Doha in Qatar; Riyadh in Saudi Arabia; and Tripoli in Libya. The firm formalised its presence in the Middle East in 1989 after many years of client activity, and today has over 300 staff in the region.
