Baker & McKenzie Welcomes New Myanmar-Qualified Lawyer

Baker & McKenzie is pleased to announce the appointment of Myanmar lawyer, Saw Yu WIN. WIN joins the Bangkok office from Myanmar Thanlwin Legal Services Ltd. in association with DFDL Mekong and will assist in building the Firm’s Myanmar practice.

WIN’s practice includes advising on a range of cross-border investment in the energy, mining, and telecommunications sectors, as well as general corporate and commercial matters. She has advised companies on major project financing, taxation, customs, labour and employment, as well as government contract matters.

WIN began her legal career as an assistant lecturer at the University of Yangon on international and corporate & commercial laws before joining Russin & Vecchi (later changed to Myanmar Thanlwin Legal Services Ltd) in 1997, where she practiced for 15 years.

WIN holds a Ph.D. and an LL.M. from Osaka University, Japan in addition to an LL.M. and LL.B. from the University of Yangon, Myanmar. She speaks Myanmar, English, and Japanese.
