Bird & Bird boosts its China Corporate Practice with the appointment of Sven-Michael Werner

Bird & Bird is pleased to announce Sven-Michael Werner has joined as a partner in its China Corporate Practice. Sven-Michael joined the firm on 3 January 2014 and is based in its Shanghai office. He has over 12 years of experience in practising Chinese law and prior to joining Bird & Bird, he was a partner with international law firm Taylor Wessing in Shanghai.

Sven-Michael has extensive experience in M&A and Foreign Direct Investment transactions, with a strong focus on advising European clients in relation to their inbound investment into China. He is fluent in German and English and speaks Mandarin.

Integral to Sven-Michael’s role will be working closely with the firm’s partners not just in China, but also across Europe, and particularly with Germany, to cultivate the growing inbound and outbound work Bird & Bird does for its European and German clients both in and out of China.
