Law firm Clyde & Co LLP is pleased to announce the arrival of George Booth as a partner into its Projects, Energy and Infrastructure practice.
George’s principle areas of practice are Projects and Corporate, primarily within the energy, defence, transport and utilities sectors. His arrival further enhances Clyde & Co’s substantial reputation across these sectors.
George arrives at Clyde & Co from Simmons & Simmons in Abu Dhabi where he was a partner for 6 years and at various times headed the corporate and projects practice groups.
Prior to working in private practice George was legal counsel at Halliburton KBR, one of the worlds largest engineering/energy services companies, where he was responsible during his three years with the company for its legal affairs across a number of jurisdictions including UK, Norway, North Africa and central and southern Europe.
George will be based out of both Clyde & Co’s Abu Dhabi and London offices, as he continues to serve clients both across the UAE and internationally.
Concerning his decision to move to Clyde & Co, George commented that “When I decided to leave Simmons & Simmons, I was looking for very specific characteristics in my new firm. George has advised many leading companies in the energy and infrastructure sectors, such as; BP, ExxonMobil, Reliance Industries, Aabar, Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company, National Water Company, EADS, ADNOC, and the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority.
In his new role with Clyde & Co George will focus on transactional work in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with particular focus on inward and outward investment, and government originated work throughout the Middle East region, India and other emerging markets.
