International law firm Clyde & Co is pleased to announce the addition of infrastructure and structured finance specialist Michael Horn as a partner in the firm’s Singapore office. Michael is the latest lateral partner hire to join the firm’s rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific projects and infrastructure group.
Michael has over 20 years’ pan-Asian experience in infrastructure and structured finance, secured lending, private equity investment, distressed debt and work-outs, corporate finance, joint ventures and cross border investment, with particular emphasis on the energy and transportation industries.
He also has significant Indonesian experience after serving most recently as Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Board of Directors at PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance, Indonesia’s sovereign wealth entity for infrastructure finance and development. He also served as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel of Financial Security Assurance Inc. and Head of Coudert Brothers’ Jakarta and Singapore offices.
Michael’s transactional work includes acting on significant energy and infrastructure projects in the region, including the AUD 695 million acquisition and refinancing of Sydney Cross City Tunnel, the finance lease structure for the Tanjung Jati B power plant, and the financings for the Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Wellington airports.

Clyde & Co has made several partner-level additions to its Asia projects and infrastructure team since the beginning of 2011, including Ian Cocking, Gilbert Kwok and Lynia Lau, all of whom joined the Hong Kong office.

The infrastructure investment opportunity in Indonesia is valued at USD 250 billion over the next 5 years, by some estimates.

Michael graduated from Harvard Law School, earning a J.D. cum laude (honors) in 1989 and attended Tufts University earning a B.A., magna cum laude (honors) in 1985.
