Davis Polk Elects Three New Counsel

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP has announced that Yixin (Christine) Chen, Ajay Lele and Jean Weng were elected counsel, effective June 1, 2010.

Ms. Chen is counsel in the Corporate Department, practicing in Beijing. Her work focuses on public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions involving financial institutions, and U.S. bank and insurance regulatory matters. She also advises clients on U.S. trade and investment laws applicable to cross-border transactions, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”). She also has experience in credit transactions and the formation of private investment funds and represents clients on general corporate and securities law matters.

Mr. Lele is counsel in the Corporate Department, practicing in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in New York. He has worked on a wide variety of both public and private company transactions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and general corporate matters. His recent matters include advising Morgan Stanley on its sale of Van Kampen to Invesco, PepsiCo on its acquisitions of its anchor bottlers and Citigroup in the formation of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Ms. Weng is counsel in Davis Polk’s Corporate Department, practicing in the Capital Markets Group in New York. She has worked on a wide variety of both public and private debt, equity and equity-linked offerings by U.S. and non-U.S. issuers, including initial public offerings and high-yield debt financings, in a range of industries. Ms. Weng regularly advises investment banking clients on securities law-related matters and corporate clients on general corporate matters, including corporate governance and SEC matters.
