DLA Piper Boosts Asia Pacific Corporate Practice with Two Senior Partner Appointments

DLA Piper has announced the appointment of leading corporate partners Bryan Pointon and David Ryan to its Australian practice, based in the Sydney office. Bryan is also taking on the role of Head of Corporate – Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Bryan was a partner at Malleson Stephen Jaques and Gilbert + Tobin for over 15 years. He was previously admitted to practice in the US and was an attorney at Latham & Watkins in New York.

Bryan is renowned as one of Australia’s leading private equity lawyers and is regularly ranked by legal guides, including Chambers, Euromoney, AsiaLaw and Best Lawyers. Chambers Asia Pacific 2013 describes him as “a go-to partner for private equity”.

David Ryan will further bolster DLA Piper’s corporate offering. David is a recognised specialist in public company M&A, equity capital markets transactions and corporate governance. He has specific expertise in the energy and resources industry, having acted on some of the most significant deals in that sector in recent times. David also acts for a number of clients in the engineering and infrastructure, technology and health industries.
