Experienced Securities and Equity Derivatives Lawyer Joins Latham & Watkins

Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Posit Laohaphan has joined the firm’s Hong Kong office as counsel in the Corporate Department.

Laohaphan has extensive capital markets and equity derivatives experience. He has advised both issuers and underwriters with respect to a broad range of sophisticated securities matters and has represented dealers and counterparties on various derivatives transactions and in the area of derivatives regulation. He has particularly deep experience structuring an array of complex debt, equity-linked, credit-linked and hybrid structured products. Laohaphan has advised banks and companies in the United States and across the Asia-Pacific region.

Laohaphan joins the firm from Davis Polk where he practiced in the firm’s Hong Kong and New York offices. He graduated from Australian National University with Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law (with honors) degrees. He received a Graduate Diploma in Corporate, Securities and Finance Law from the University of Sydney School of Law and an LLM from Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for outstanding academic achievement.
