Jones Day Sydney Continues to Grow Its Litigation Practice in Australian and International Markets

Jones Day Sydney will continue to grow its litigation practice in Australia and internationally, according to Partner-in-Charge Chris Ahern, who was recently interviewed by Australasian Legal Business. The Sydney litigation team works on a significant amount of cross border litigation for both U.S. and Australian clients. Mr. Ahern stated that, “One area we have been quite successful in building is in the defence of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) allegations.” He also expects litigation to continue to grow “as a result of class actions, litigation funders and corporate disclosure responsibilities.” In addition, the Sydney Office will soon welcome another litigation partner, John Emmerig from Ashurst Australia, who will bring the total number of litigation partners in Sydney to five.
