Latham & Watkins Moscow Office Adds Experienced Transactional Partner

Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Mikhail Turetsky has joined the firm’s Moscow office as a partner. Turetsky’s practice focuses on capital markets, finance and restructuring advising companies and Russian and international banks on domestic, intra-region and cross-border matters.

Turetsky has worked on a number of high profile transactions in Russia and more broadly the CIS, with particularly deep expertise advising on debt and equity capital markets, bank lending and restructuring matters. His practice spans numerous sectors, including financial services, energy, industrial, media and communications, among others.

“Mikhail’s expertise complements our growth strategy for our Russian practice extremely well. He will be a great asset to the team and his breadth of experience strengthens our corporate and finance capabilities. We continue to see an increasing sophistication and complexity of deals in Russia, and are delighted to be adding a partner of Mikhail’s stature, knowledge and technical abilities to the practice,” said Chris Allen, Latham & Watkins’ Office Managing Partner in Moscow.

Joerg Kirchner, Vice Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Global Corporate Department, added: “Mikhail is a hard-working, energetic and hands-on lawyer whose client service skills and entrepreneurialism will help grow our practice in Russia and Europe.”

“Latham has a phenomenally strong track record in Russia. The firm has long been admired for building one of the leading transactional practices in the market, in particular its marquee capital markets and M&A capabilities. As deal flow starts to pick up, I look forward to contributing to the further growth of the practice,” said Turetsky.

Turetsky joins Latham & Watkins from Baker & McKenzie. He is a Russian-qualified lawyer and a graduate of the Novosibirsk State University. He also holds an LLM from the University of East Anglia.
