Chadbourne & Parke announced today that leading capital markets lawyer Nikolai Mikhailov has joined the firm as an international partner in its London and Moscow offices. Mikhailov joins the firm from Clifford Chance, where he was heavily involved in developing the capital markets practice in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey and for providing US law advice on a wide range of emerging market finance transactions.

Mikhailov is a US-qualified lawyer and UK citizen, who is fluent in both Russian and English. For the last nine years, he has concentrated on building the Russian capital markets practice of Clifford Chance in London. During this time, he also worked on a number of high-profile capital markets transactions across Europe. Before moving to London, he worked for four years in Clifford Chance’s New York office, focusing primarily on private equity and M&A matters.

Mikhailov earned his BA from Moscow State University, an MA in political science from the University of Rochester, and his JD from Harvard Law School.
