DLA Piper today announces that leading specialist finance lawyer, Onno Bakker, is joining the firm as a partner in early 2013. He is joining DLA Piper’s Asia Pacific Finance and Projects practice and will be based in the firm’s Sydney office. Onno joins the firm from Linklaters where he was partner and Head of Finance in Amsterdam.
Onno Bakker is dual Australian and English law qualified, having previously worked at Clayton Utz in Australia before joining Linklaters in London in 2002 and then Amsterdam in 2004.
Onno specialises in syndicated finance and (leveraged) acquisition finance, as well as trade finance and asset finance. He regularly advises major international investment banks and sponsors on complex cross-border finance matters.
