Loeb & Loeb Adds Two Capital Markets Partners in Hong Kong

Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Michael Fung and Alfred Lee have joined the firm’s Hong Kong office as partners in the Capital Markets and Corporate Department. The pair join from Locke Lord LLP and bring significant experience in commercial and corporate finance transactions, including the representation of issuers and underwriters in initial public offerings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and secondary fund raisings in Hong Kong.

“Hong Kong remains an important global business center and a key market for our firm’s strategic growth,” said Loeb & Loeb Vice Chairman Mitchell S. Nussbaum, co-chair of the firm’s Capital Markets and Corporate Department. “The addition of Michael and Alfred, who represent some of the market’s top legal talent, is a testament to our sustained commitment to the region.”

“We are very pleased to welcome Michael and Alfred to the firm,” added Lawrence Venick, managing partner of Loeb & Loeb’s Hong Kong office. “These new colleagues bring a deep bench of experience that will bolster Loeb’s position as one of the most active law firms in Hong Kong within the area of capital markets and corporate finance.”

Fung and Lee have each been recognized for their work in the equity capital markets by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. Collectively, they have advised issuers and sponsors/underwriters on more than 50 public offerings in Hong Kong for companies across a range of industries. They also have extensive experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate restructurings, and regulatory compliance, including Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) investigations and matters concerning Hong Kong Listing Rules and the Code on Takeovers and Mergers.

Prior to his tenure at Locke Lord, Fung practiced in association with Loeb & Loeb when the firm entered the Hong Kong market in 2012 and he remained on board through part of 2013.

“I look forward to re-joining this impressive team and working with new Loeb colleagues in the firm’s Hong Kong, Beijing and U.S. offices,” said Fung. “The firm offers a strong platform for growing my practice in Asia and abroad.”

“I’m excited to introduce my clients to Loeb’s dynamic service offering,” added Lee. “The firm is a great fit for my practice and I look forward to many new opportunities ahead.”
