Minter Ellison welcomes new finance partner in Melbourne

Minter Ellison is delighted to announce that Peter Kay has joined the firm’s growing finance practice as a partner, based in Melbourne. Peter’s areas of practice are acquisition and leveraged finance, construction finance, mezzanine lending and general corporate lending.

In announcing the appointment, Melbourne Finance Group Head, David Eterovic, recognised the range and versatility that Peter brings to the team. “Our team in Melbourne has built an enviable reputation working with domestic and international clients on some of the region’s most significant finance transactions. Peter understands global financial markets, is known by a number of our key bank clients and is well regarded for his pragmatic and commercial approach,” Mr Eterovic said.

Minter Ellison’s finance practice, which in Australia has been described by commentators as among the best in the market for its “broad range of banking and finance advisory services”, boasts an impressive portfolio of award-winning transactions – it has won 14 industry awards over the past three years alone for its syndicated, debt market and project finance work.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Monash University. He is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and as a solicitor of the High Court of England and Wales. He also practised in London for three years with international firms White & Case and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
