Recently, Mr. Gao Jun (Gary) joins into Shanghai Office of Zhonglun as a partner. Before his joining, Gary has been working in Shanghai Duan & Duan Law Firm as one of its partners for 16 years.
Since his admission to the bar in China in1995, Gary has accumulated around 20 years’ experience in cross-border litigation, international commercial arbitration and mediation, regulatory and compliance matters; domestic dispute resolution, crisis management and complex commercial litigation; corporate financing and restructuring, as well as foreign direct investments. As the legal counsel of number of multinational enterprises, institutions as well as large domestic corporations, Gary helped the clients in dealing with numerous complicated transnational litigations, arbitration cases and compliance cases, whereby not only protecting clients’ interests while also winning the unanimous praise from them.
Years of litigation experience shapes Gary a very acute sense of legal risks that may be encountered in the daily management and operation by enterprises and companies. It enables Gary to assist the enterprises and companies to mitigate those risks at the lowest level during the course of the investment structure design, risk control, contract negotiations along with other daily legal matters, so as to effectively avoid the potential disputes in the future.
Part of representative cases participated by Gary are listed as following: provide GE Group with daily legal consultancy and compliance legal service to the subsidiaries under GE’s umbrella and deals with litigations on behalf of them; have won insofar all litigations for eBay China in mainland China and provides daily legal consultancy covering all aspects of ecommerce; provided comprehensive legal services to Hong Kong New World Group for its acquisition Stellar Megaunion Corporation which is the first A share listing company acquisition carried out by foreign investor via restructure proceedings; represented Assa Abloy in a joint venture contract dispute and won the litigation for the client; Provides legal service to eBay Inc. for its investment in China; acted as leading counsel to have won a commercial arbitration for SIPOPEC Star Petroleum which is lasting more than 10 years in Scotland.
