New Corporate Partner to Join Lander & Rogers

Law firm Lander & Rogers announced that it has appointed corporate and regulatory lawyer Robert Neely to build the firm’s presence in the IT, and telecommunications sectors, and to expand the firm’s competition and consumer law offering.

Robert, who joins Lander & Rogers’ Sydney office as a partner, has practised for more than 25 years and is highly regarded for his expertise in IT and telecommunications law. He joins the firm from Henry Davis York.

Robert’s practice involves large scale ICT procurement and outsourcing initiatives, communications and media regulation and commercial arrangements in the IT and telecommunications sectors. As an experienced competition lawyer, Robert also advises on mergers, restrictive trade practices, infrastructure access and competition policy initiatives.

Robert said, “I was looking for a new challenge but not really considering another law firm. I was introduced to Lander & Rogers and was particularly impressed, both with the growth potential the corporate team presents, and with the importance the firm places on its culture and values. In terms of culture, it was apparent to me that Lander & Rogers really does ‘walk the talk’. I am very excited by the opportunity to be part of the firm and to help drive the growth of the Corporate practice in Sydney and nationally.”

Robert joins Lander & Rogers partner Ruth Stringer – who is a former colleague from Minter Ellison – in the Sydney Corporate team. Says Robert: “I am very much looking forward to working with Ruth and the Financial Services team. We have complimentary practices and have already identified some joint opportunities.”

Anthea Nolan has joined Lander & Rogers’ Financial Services team in Melbourne as a Consultant. Anthea is a superannuation and financial services expert who has extensive experience working closely with trustees representing all segments of the superannuation industry and their stakeholders. She joins the firm from Allens, where she worked on a full range of superannuation-related matters within their Financial Services group.

Chief Executive Partner, Andrew Willder, said, “The appointments of Robert and Anthea represent another exciting step in the development of our Corporate practice in Sydney. Robert brings a complimentary skill set to the Corporate team, and he will, along with Ruth Stringer, play a lead role in helping to grow the practice nationally.”
