Henry Wheare, a noted intellectual property lawyer whose career has spanned more than four decades, has joined Nixon Peabody CWL in Hong Kong as a partner.
Henry, who was described by Chambers Asia-Pacific as “a leader in the IP Space in China,” focuses his practice on intellectual property protection and dispute resolution in cases involving patents, trademarks, copyright, designs and confidential information, with an emphasis on cross-border solutions. He has worked extensively with both civil courts and enforcement agencies spanning Greater China and other jurisdictions.
During the course of his career, Henry has also developed significant experience in structuring and negotiating transactional IP matters such as licenses, technology transfer, regulatory issues and other legal challenges associated with new technologies. His practice includes a wide range of industries, including life sciences, technology, media, communications and entertainment.

Henry joins Nixon Peabody CWL from Hogan Lovells, where he was a former partner and counsel in the firm’s Hong Kong and Vietnam offices.
