November Asian Lateral Moves Summary

November was another busy month for attorney job changes in Asia.  Here is a breakdown of some of the biggest newsmakers.

Singapore:

Gerald Yee was recruited to Colin Ng & Partners’ shipping practice.  The admiralty and maritime partner handles both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Matthew Skinner and Darren Murphy were hired by Jones Day.  Skinner focuses his practice on international arbitration and dispute resolution.  Murphy concentrates on energy transactions.

Duane Morris added corporate attorneys Jamie Benson and James Wong.  Benson brings extensive experience in U.S. securities, capital markets, and M&A work.  Wong centers his practice on private equity.

Seoul:

Paul Hastings announced the official opening of its Seoul office with partners Jong Han Kim and Daniel Kim.  The firm hired Of Counsel Dong Chul Kim, a capital markets lawyer, to bolster the new office.

Tokyo:

Steve Lewis joined Bingham McCutchen’s Tokyo office from Herbert Smith.  Lewis focuses his practice on corporate M&A work.

Shanghai:

In Shanghai, Llinks hired partner Selena She.  The corporate partner’s practice encompasses aspects of mergers and acquisitions, real estate finance, and ip rights.

Hong Kong:

Kennedy’s announced the recruitment of Peter Cashin to its insurance practice group.  The partner joins from CMS Cameron McKenna.
