International law firm Dechert LLP announced today that Paul Weidong Wang has joined the firm’s corporate practice as a partner in Beijing. Paul Wang was most recently a partner at DeHeng Law Offices and previously worked as associate for Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago.
“We are delighted that Paul will be joining us,” said Henry N. Nassau, chair of the firm’s corporate practice. “His caliber as a lawyer and the quality of his work make him an excellent addition to our global team.”
“Paul adds additional depth to our Beijing team and his arrival is a critical step forward to what we have been looking to build in China,” said Henry Wang, head of the firm’s Beijing office.
Paul Wang served as the head of venture capital and private equity at DeHeng. He focuses his practice on representing clients in a variety of private and public offerings of common and preferred stock, convertible securities and debt securities. He has a strong background in mergers and acquisitions and represents clients in a variety of industries, including the healthcare, technology, education, energy, finance and real estate sectors.
“I have known Paul for the last several years and he has a well-established private equity practice. Dechert’s worldwide PE capacity will be well complemented by Paul’s practice,” said Jingzhou Tao, Managing Partner responsible for developing the Asia Practice of the firm.
Paul Wang obtained both his L.LM and J.S.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and is a member of the New York Bar.
