SNR Denton announced today that Joby Beretta has joined its Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice as a partner. Beretta joins SNR Denton from the international luxury hospitality group Jumeirah Group LLC. He will reside in the firm’s Dubai office.
“After spending several years as an in-house lawyer, Joby brings with him intimate knowledge of what clients need and expect from their outside counsel,” said Neil Cuthbert, Middle East Senior Partner at SNR Denton. “In addition, he has in-depth knowledge of the TMT and hospitality sectors that will benefit our clients looking to expand in this region.”
Beretta has over 10 years TMT experience gained initially with an international law firm based in the UK and subsequently in-house internationally. Prior to Jumeriah, Beretta was Commercial Counsel in-house with Motorola Inc based in Dubai covering the MEA region and later took up the role of Group Legal Counsel and Company Secretary of an AIM listed IT company.
He has an extensive range of experience including commercial, intellectual property, media and entertainment, technology, e-commerce, outsourcing, franchising, sponsorship, communications, data protection, hospitality and sports law. He earned his LLB in Law & German Law from the London School of Economics and holds an LLM in IT & Telecommunications law.
“I have been following the growth of SNR Denton for a while, and felt this was the right time to join the firm. In addition to the core TMT work, I also look forward to expanding the firm’s Hotels and Leisure practice throughout the Middle East,” said Beretta.
