Sparke Helmore Lawyers is pleased to announce the arrival of Yvette McLaughlin as a partner in the Insurance Group in the firm’s Brisbane office.
“We’re very pleased that Yvette has joined the firm and look forward to working with her,” said Jesse Webb, the firm’s National Managing Partner.
Yvette advises government agencies on issues arising from claims in the general liability and statutory classes of insurance and has practised in insurance litigation for more than 16 years. She also has experience in complementary areas of law, including employment law, workplace health and safety and industrial relations. She is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law and is a member of the Queensland Law Society Accident Compensation/Tort Committee.
Rhett Slocombe, who leads Sparke Helmore’s National Insurance Practice Group, said: “Yvette’s appointment adds to the recent promotions and new hires in the Insurance Group across the Sydney, Perth and Brisbane offices and I’m delighted with the direction our team has taken. Yvette’s significant experience adds to the depth of our Brisbane team in the areas of statutory classes of insurance and general compensation.”
Yvette’s arrival follows the recent promotions to partner of Nicholas Studdert, Maxine Tills and Mark Doepel in the Insurance Group and Roland Hassall in the Workplace Group. The Insurance Group also recently welcomed Riaan Piek as a Special Counsel in the Perth office. Riaan specialises in professional indemnity, liability and Directors and Officers’ insurance.
