Squire Sanders Boosts Financial Services Team in Australia

Squire Sanders has announced the appointment of senior financial services lawyer Josh Clarke. Mr. Clarke, who has joined the firm as Of Counsel, was previously a partner at the Singapore office of Watson Farley & Williams.

Mr. Clarke is an experienced, dual-qualified US and Australian attorney. He has over 15 years’ experience working at leading firms in New York, Melbourne and Singapore. He has been recognised by Chambers and Partners in its Asia 2012 guide as a leader in banking and finance (international firms).

Mr. Clarke specialises in cross-border finance with broad experience in syndicated and secured bank financings. He has a particular focus on leveraged, project, structured trade and export credit agency-backed financings, and from an industry perspective, he has considerable experience within the commodities and natural resources sectors.

John Poulsen, Squire Sanders’ managing partner in Australia, said: “Josh is a very experienced project and structured finance lawyer and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm. With his depth of expertise in the natural resources sector we see exciting synergies with our Energy and Natural Resources industry groups, not only in Australia, but across our international platform.”
