Stephen Cozens, Leading Energy and Infrastructure Lawyer, Joins Moscow Office of Debevoise

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP today announced that Stephen Cozens has joined the firm as an International Counsel in its Moscow office and a member of the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources and Project and Infrastructure Finance Groups.

Mr. Cozens joins Debevoise from the Moscow office of CMS International, where he was a partner in its Energy, Projects and Construction Group, focusing primarily on natural resource transactions and infrastructure/public-private partnership projects. Prior to joining CMS International he worked in the Global Projects Group at Linklaters in both Moscow and London, where he specialized in project finance. Mr. Cozens has advised both sponsors and lenders on oil, gas and infrastructure transactions (including joint ventures, upstream development, pipelines, petrochemical plants, ports, roads, rail, waste, water and other social infrastructure). He is recognized by Chambers Europe as one of the recommended lawyers for infrastructure/public-private partnership projects in Russia.

Mr. Cozens holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Edinburgh and graduated from the College of Law in England. Since qualification as a lawyer, he has worked in England, Russia and Uzbekistan. Mr. Cozens is a native English speaker and speaks Russian.
