Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Tejinder S. Mahil has joined its Hong Kong office as a partner. Mahil’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments involving domestic and international businesses across the Asia-Pacific region, the United Kingdom and continental Europe. He joins Winston from DLA Piper Hong Kong, where he was a partner in the corporate department.
During his more than 15-year legal career, Mahil has also advised numerous international clients on foreign direct investments in the PRC and is highly experienced in providing counsel on joint venture investments, acquisitions, restructurings and liquidations of foreign-invested entities.
In addition, his diverse corporate practice includes advising banks and financial institutions on the financing of acquisitions and infrastructure projects and counseling prominent Indian corporations on business development opportunities in the PRC and Asia-Pacific.
“The firm’s U.S. and European clients continue to be active in Hong Kong and China,” said David Hall-Jones, managing partner of the firm’s Asia offices. “The addition of Tej allows us to better serve the corporate needs of our clients. Tej also brings his own strong practice to our growing Hong Kong office.”
Mahil is especially well-regarded for his experience in the hospitality and leisure sector, representing premier international hotel, lodging and gaming companies with development, management and operational issues in Macau, India and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Mahil received his LL.B. (Hons.) from Brunel University, Middlesex, UK, and is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales (1995) and Hong Kong (2001). He was named by International FinancialLaw Review (IFLR) as a “Leading Lawyer” in private equity/venture capital (China, 2010) and M&A (Hong Kong, 2010).
