Fried Frank Promotes Two to International Counsel in Hong Kong Office

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that Jay Aggarwal and Marianne Cheng have been promoted to International Counsel in Hong Kong.

Jay Aggarwal is an attorney in the Firm’s corporate department in Hong Kong. Her practice focuses on capital markets transactions, with an emphasis on global offerings and listings of companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Ms. Aggarwal also works on a broad range of other corporate matters, including pre-IPO investments, debt securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general regulatory and compliance work for listed companies. Most recently, she worked on a debt restructuring of Peace Mark Limited which was awarded “Restructuring Deal of the Year” in 2009 by the China Law & Practice and represented Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the global offering and Hong Kong listing of China Lilang Limited. Ms. Aggarwal graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honors. She also earned a Certificate in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University, Beijing; a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from with Distinction from The University of Hong Kong; and a Masters of Law from Queen’s College, University of Cambridge. She is admitted to practice law in Hong Kong and England and Wales.

Marianne Cheng is an attorney in the Firm’s corporate department in Hong Kong. Her practice focuses on capital markets transactions, with an emphasis on global offerings and listings of companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Ms. Cheng also works on a broad range of other corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, tender offers and privatizations. Most recently, she represented China Liansu Group Holdings Limited in its global offering and Hong Kong listing, which was led by J.P. Morgan and UBS, and Stone Group Holdings Limited, a company listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, in its privatization by scheme of arrangement. Ms. Cheng graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Laws and was on the Dean’s Honors List. She also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from The University of Hong Kong.  She is admitted to practice law in Hong Kong.

Ms. Aggarwal and Ms. Cheng join Samuel Ngo, who practices in the Firm’s litigation department, as international counsel in Hong Kong.
