Simpson Thacher Represents Blackstone in its Agreement to Manage Merrill Lynch Asia Real Estate Assets in Excess of $2 Billion

Simpson Thacher represented The Blackstone Group in connection with its agreement to manage Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Asian real estate assets and to act as the new general partner for the Merrill Lynch Asian Real Estate Opportunity Fund.  The combined Merrill Lynch portfolio (valued in excess of $2 billion) consists of assets geographically spread across Asia, with the substantial majority located in four markets: Japan, China, India and South Korea.  The transaction closed on November 23, 2010.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
