Allens Arthur Robinson (Allens) has advised leading Australasian private equity firm Catalyst Investment Managers Pty Ltd on its leveraged buyout of Australia’s largest air-conditioning wholesaler, AC Components.
The new deal, which was completed late last year, involves a cash purchase with potential deferred payment of an undisclosed amount.
Corporate Partner Steve Clifford led the Allens team, together with Senior Associate Mark Malinas.
‘We were particularly pleased to help Catalyst and the management team at Actrol to grow the business,’ Mr Clifford said.
‘Completing this strategically important bolt-on acquisition is a significant step in their growth strategy.’
This latest transaction was the second time the two firms worked together in 2010. In April, Allens advised Catalyst on its acquisition of Actrol Parts, a market-leading wholesaler and distributor of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and parts.
