Baker & McKenzie has advised on the establishment of a global relationship between the Goodman Group (ASX: GMG) and Malaysia’s Employees Provident Fund (EPF). The global relationship has this week completed an initial investment in six logistics assets in Australia.
The Baker & McKenzie team was led by partners David Jones and Rodney Stone who were assisted by Rahul Parrab, Justin Gross and Belinda Barnes.
Mr. Jones said the two companies have a combined equity commitment of A$500 million for Australia. This is particularly where the parties have such prominence in their own right, and are looking to bring their unique talents, resources, cultures and experiences to a common cause. The continued interest in Australia by Asian investors, with EPF’s investment another step in the growing wave of capital moving to Australia from Malaysia, further reinforces the role that Baker & McKenzie plays in facilitating cross-border investment as the most entrenched law firm in the Asia Pacific region.”
Goodman was represented by Freehills as vendor and EPF by Ashursts.
