Dentons offices in Singapore and Canada collaborate on cross border transaction for Surbana Jurong

Dentons advised Surbana Jurong, a Singaporean state owned enterprise and one of the largest Asia-based urban and infrastructure consulting firms, on its acquisition of B+H, a global, award-winning consulting and design solutions firm providing architecture, interior design, planning, landscape design, and strategic consulting services across ten studios in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore & Ho Chi Minh City.

The cross border transaction was originated by Global Vice-Chair and ASEAN CEO Philip Jeyaretnam S.C. and involved our Toronto and Singapore offices working very closely together with Surbana Jurong’s executive and legal teams. The transaction, which had significant regulatory and local law implications, showcased Dentons’ ability to provide seamless service across our regions.

The Toronto office also coordinated with the Atlanta office of Dentons US on the US due diligence and Partner Sandy McCandless of the San Francisco office on US employment matters.

The Singapore office led the Singapore elements of the transaction and coordinated the due diligence and other portions of this transaction across the Middle East, China, India and South East Asia, with assistance from our offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Dubai. Senior Partner Josephine Koh (Corporate) led the Singapore team, and was assisted by Partner Nigel Chia (Corporate), and Senior Associate Zongxiao Mou (Corporate).
