Eversheds Helps Lundbeck Grow in China

International law firm Eversheds has advised Lundbeck, a leading Danish pharmaceutical company, on establishing a new research centre in Shanghai, China.

As well as supporting Lundbeck’s overall research and development strategy, the new centre will firmly establish the company’s position as a global pharmaceutical company and will create opportunities for entering into research collaborations with businesses and universities in the region.

Eversheds’ Shanghai and Copenhagen offices jointly advised Lundbeck on corporate and regulatory issues in China. The team was led by Eversheds’ Senior Office Partner in Denmark, member of Eversheds’ China Business Group, Nikolaj Juhl Hansen in conjunction with the Head of Eversheds’ Shanghai office Partner Jean-Marc Deschandol and Legal Adviser Sam Chen.

Nikolaj comments:

“There is currently enormous momentum in the Chinese and Asian research environments and we are seeing an increase in international companies wanting to establish a successful new China operation. This project involved a number of complex cross-border regulatory issues in China, and working with our colleagues on the ground, we were able to provide seamless results for the client.”
