Firm Represents Barclays Capital in US$115 Million Offering of Zero Coupon Convertible Bonds due 2016 by Solar Applied Materials Technology Corporation

The Firm represented Barclays Capital in connection with the offering of an aggregate amount of $115 Million Zero Coupon Convertible Bonds due 2016 by Solar Applied Materials Technology Corporation (“Solar”).  Solar is principally engaged in the manufacture, processing, recovery, extraction and trade of sputtering thin film targets and precious metal materials. Solar provides sputtering thin film target materials, including pure metals, alloys and non-metallic compound targets for compact discs (CDs), passive components, hard disks, liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and lighting emitting diodes (LEDs), as well as precious metal materials, including precious metal chemicals and other precious metallic materials, such as silver nitrate, silver cyanide, potassium gold cyanide, duct pieces and wires. The transaction is Solar’s first international securities offering since the initial listing of its common shares on the GreTai Securities Market in Taiwan in January 2005.
