Freshfields Advises on US$800 Million Huaneng Renewables IPO

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised the underwriters on the US$800 million global offering of shares and listing of Huaneng Renewables on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Founded in 2002, Huaneng Renewables is a leading Chinese renewable energy company focused on wind power generation. The company has the third largest wind power generation capacity in China and is among the 10 largest wind power firms in the world.

The underwriters were Morgan Stanley, China International Capital Corporation, Goldman Sachs and the Macquarie Group.

The Freshfields global capital markets team was led by partner Calvin Lai with support from Richard Wang, Kelly Zhao, Feifei Xu and Jenny Yin, and US associate Iris Leung.
