King & Wood Mallesons Advises Bright Ruby on Commercial Real Estate Acquisition

King & Wood Mallesons has advised Singapore-based investment house Bright Ruby Resources Pte Ltd (Bright Ruby) on its acquisition of 231 Elizabeth Street, Sydney, from Investa for approximately A$201 million.

The deal represents Bright Ruby’s second major real estate acquisition in Australia in recent months, as well as one the largest single asset property deal to hit Sydney’s central business district in the first half of 2013.

The King & Wood Mallesons team was led by real estate partner Sue Kench, who was supported by senior associate Roger Clarke and solicitor James Hough.

King & Wood Mallesons previously advised Bright Ruby on its acquisition of an office tower at 10 Barrack Street, Sydney, from Blackrock, which marked the company’s first venture into the Australian commercial property market.
