Mayer Brown JSM continues to strengthen its Project Finance offering in Southeast Asia through the hire of consultant Ben Thompson from Allen & Overy. Ben joins Mayer Brown JSM’s Singapore office and his hire follows the recruitment of another consultant, Quynh-Anh Lam from Freshfields in Ho Chi Minh City in October, and the arrival of partner Nathan Dodd from Linklaters in September. Nathan heads the Projects Group in Southeast Asia as the Firm builds a Project Finance Group around its Singapore hub.
Ben has more than 10 years of experience advising both sponsors and lenders in drafting and reviewing multi-lender financial documentation, gas supply agreements, power purchase agreements, concession agreements and operation & maintenance agreements for projects throughout Southeast Asia. Ben was previously with Allen & Overy in Bangkok, and before that with Linklaters in Singapore and London, and was most recently named a “rising star” for Thailand in the banking/finance area by IFLR (International Financial Law Review).
