Mayer Brown JSM Represents Vietnamese Companies to Secure Duty Rate Victories

Mayer Brown JSM is pleased to announce that it has represented two Vietnamese seafood exporters, Vinh Hoan Corporation and QVD Seafood, and obtained complete victory in an administrative review for anti-dumping duties by the US Department of Commerce (DOC).

Announced by the DOC as its seventh final results of administrative review on frozen fillets shipments from Vietnam, Vinh Hoan Corp. will continue to enjoy duty rates at 0%. In addition, QVD Seafood received a rate of $0.03/kg, reversing a preliminary decision that set its rate at $0.056/kg.

“We are delighted with these significant results,” said Matthew McConkey, partner of Mayer Brown and manager of the firm’s Government & Global Trade practice in Asia. “This victory will save both of our clients millions in potential duties and will enable them to continue their US operations.”

The Mayer Brown JSM team was led by Global Trade partner Matthew McConkey with assistance from associate Hai Anh Le in Ho Chi Minh City and other associates in Washington DC.
