Salans has acted as legal adviser to Orient Express Bank, one of Russia’s top 10 privately owned lenders and an increasingly active banking M&A player, in connection with the acquisition of a 100% stake in Santander Consumer Bank, an active player on the Russian consumer finance market, from Santander Group. This deal follows the recent acquisition by Orient Express Bank of CityMortgage Bank, one of the leaders in the Russian mortgage market.
The Salans team of lawyers was led by Moscow partner Alexei Knyazhev and senior associate Alexei Zakharko, assisted by Moscow associate Vladislav Bromberg.
