Simpson Thacher Represents Shinhan Bank in US$700 Million Debt Offering

The Firm recently represented Shinhan Bank in the issuance of US$700,000,000 4.375% Senior Notes due 2015 (the “Notes”) under its US$6 billion global medium term notes program. BNP Paribas, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch International, Morgan Stanley and Shinhan Investment Corp. acted as the joint lead managers and the Notes were issued in reliance upon Rule 144A and Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended. Shinhan Bank is one of the top commercial banks in Korea and the flagship company for Shinhan Financial Group, whose shares are listed on the Korea Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange.
