Weil, Gotshal & Manges represented leading global private equity firm Providence Equity Partners in its investment of approximately Rs. 260 crore ($58 million) in a mix of primary and secondary investment in UFO Moviez India Limited (UFO). UFO is the world’s largest satellite-based digital cinema service with close to 2,500 installations across India and is the only company in the world delivering content for digital cinema via satellite in MPEG-4 high-definition format.
Weil’s team was led by Hong Kong partners Peter Feist and Akiko Mikumo, assisted by Hong Kong associate Nadia Karkar, US partner Jared Rusman, and US associate Lane Morgan.
